Revisiting the Extended Clinic

From different perspectives, we can see a movement where the clinic has been retracted and expanded, in a process that indicates a constant criticism of the retraction and an attempt to expand this device. That said, it is necessary to understand what is being said when we talk about the Extended Clinic. The aim of this study was to delimit how the term "expanded clinic" has been appropriated by authors in the period between 2003 and 2013, based on an analysis of articles published on the CAPES "Per odicos" platforms, the Virtual Health Library and the Ministry of Health's Virtual Health Library. The texts found characteristics listed by the authors, without which we could not be talking about an expanded clinic. The results indicate the multiplicity and heterogeneity with which scholars in this field propose to think and intervene in the context of health promotion, as well as establishing axes on which these scholars are based. Based on the results, an organisational chart was drawn up in which these axes work by maintaining a dialogue and feeding back into each other.
