After a fierce storm hit the small forest where he lived with his father, 12-year-old Arlo found himself stranded. His dad, who had gone out just before the storm, was unable to make it back home due to the downed trees and flooded roads.

Arlo wasn't alone, though. He remembered all the survival skills his dad taught him and quickly got to work. He built a shelter, started a fire, and gathered food and water. He kept his spirits up by remembering the stories his dad had told him about their family's past.

Despite the hardships of the storm, Arlo felt proud of himself for staying calm and using the skills his dad had taught him. But after a night of isolation, Arlo's spirits lifted when he strolled across a map and he set off to find his way home. He ran towards the sound and found his dad after hearing him call out for him. reuniting them with one another.

Arlo's dad was amazed by the skills his son displayed in his absence. They hugged and shared a moment of joy and relief. The bond between them grew even stronger in that moment, as they realized how much they needed each other. The storm may have caused destruction, but for Max and his dad, it brought them closer together.

Jackson's mum closed the storybook and explained that it was now bedtime after they read the book together.
