Return to the Most Beautiful Village in the World

A year goes by and another winter arrives. Mirado has been traveling with the circus all over the world, but he still thinks of Paghman Village and his friend Yamo every day. When he hears the news that the long war will be over, Mirado decides to return to the village. He says farewell to the members of the circus and heads east by train, bus, carriage, and finally by foot. Supported by the kindness of people he meets on the way, he finally arrives in Paghman Village but finds it was completely destroyed by the war. He cannot find Yamo there, so the next morning he goes to the nearby town. When he begins to play his flute on the street, people gather around him and Mirado hears a song sung by a familiar voice.
