Acts 1: 8 says, ".... you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."(ESV)
Why we are not allowed to know exactly when Jesus is coming back, but we are commanded to keep busy working for Him. That work is the ministry Evangelism. This book reminds the readers, if you feel or think you have no ministry you are wrong. Every believer has the ministry of witnessing for the Lord. That is what the Bible calls Evangelism.It is sharing the Good News of salvation that comes from Jesus.It is sharing our stories of how we have been saved.It has been proactive to proclaim the Kingdom of God.And we have been given the power to that task. We are empowered to do this task. We are prepared by the Holy Spirit to do this divine task. We are empowered to be Jesus witness in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and at the end of the world.
So, we can be local witness and global witness for Jesus. Jesus has commissioned all believers to be missionaries locally and globally. You are one of those missionaries if you believe in Jesus; if Jesus is your Savior and Master. If we claim to be followers of Jesus, we had better take His command and mandate on Evangelism seriously.
This is the message of this book. It is my prayer it will stir up fresh flame in Christians and churches. If we fail to do biblical Evangelism, we fail to do the Great Commission. The consequences will be very grave. May God help us to catch fresh zeal and zest for this divine mandate. We can do it by His grace and His Spirit in us.
