In this study, we examine the effect of social engagement, concern for sustainable tourism, and the exemplary role of public authorities on responsible tourist behavior. The study is based on a total sample of 344 respondents. The research hypotheses will be tested using structural equation modeling. The results highlight a positive effect of social commitment and government leadership on responsible tourist behavior. However, concern for sustainable tourism does not have a significant effect on responsible tourist behavior.
