This book is about kartavya, and I recall roughly 22 years of so ago I had said to Sri Krishnamoorty the Indian Liaison Officer at Kew Garden when he visited our home that ' I hope that God did not put such a burden of actions on me that I would be unable to fulfil my kartabya as responsibilities to my family. This was at the height of the battle that was unfolding. I wanted to keep my family together even through the warfare that I was engaged in. This remained always the overriding concern. Like Charity begins at home but does not end there, responsibilities begin at home with onee's foot firmly embedded in the family but as opportunities arise to serve the wider environment these need to be fulfilled.
