There is no escaping the fact that one day all of us will die. Hospitals remain the most common place to die, so groups of health care professionals are now specializing in the unique care required to effectively treat the terminally ill and dying. These special groups of individuals are called Palliative Care Teams and are typically composed of nurses, physicians, social workers, and chaplains. Palliative Care Teams provide additional comfort and reassurance needed to enhance care. They have a special focus on treatments and communication that would allow a patient to die peacefully and in an atmosphere of love and acceptance.
