Results of studies conducted in 1963 are reported herein. This report includes a discussion of the characteristics and capabilities of small portable growth chambers where several of the experiments were conducted._ Results of studies with bean and tomato plants under two light sources illustrate the effects of light quality on growth and development of plants.

This report calls attention to the effects of coz concentration of the air and soil moisture tension on transpiration, leaf temperature, and stomatal activity of several agronomic crops.
