The objective of our research is to explore the representations of citizenship conveyed by the high school geography curriculum and textbook in the Gabonese context. The theme was chosen for a number of reasons, including the democratic deficit, chronic debt, the education crisis, and the impoverishment affecting two-thirds of the population. Yesterday a middle-income country, today a highly indebted country, this young State, which is in decline in all areas, is astonishing in its social choices. These dysfunctions lead us to raise the general question of citizenship and citizenship education in Gabon. Since citizenship education refers to school and possibly to the teaching of various disciplines, including geography, we have focused on two important teaching actors, namely the geography curriculum and the geography textbook. Keywords: Education, teaching, citizenship, school, Gabon
