Rebecca Stewart is a Photo editor working in Japan. She is soon devastated upon coming across an email that she had sent when she was drunk, claiming that she had a rich, handsome, Japanese boyfriend. Finding out that her family is coming to meet her 'boyfriend" she enters an extreme state of panic. Luckily her friend, Mina, gives her the suggestion to rent a boyfriend. Sceptical, yet desperate, she follows Minas suggestion which allows her to meet Yuta whom her family grows to like and whom she quickly falls in love with. She is unable to confess her feelings towards him as he is in love with someone else. Wanting to grow closer to him she offers to pay him a lot more should he stay with her and her family a little while longer, all in hope that he would eventually fall in love with her, but can money buy love?
