Jody Lisberger's provocatively titled story collection will make readers wonder just how and when they should 'remember love.' As trauma, as what persists, as what confines, as what liberates, as what... This description may be from another edition of this product.
At the complications of even trying to love. I read this book nearly a year ago, and the stories stick with me. They surprise with their naked examination of human vulnerability in ordinary, and sometimes extraordinary circumstances. The author let the characters care -- deeply -- about the rifts and tears in human relationships. Despite disappointments, they never lose their essential idealism in the face of disillussion. My only complaint is that some of the stories cried out to be expanded into full length works --I look forward to a novel from this author.
Remember Love

In the title story of Remember Love, Becca says, "Be careful with that word . . . Don't use it for nothing . . . Don't throw it around." She's talking about "love". And these stories are about love, about the affairs and condition of the human heart. The characters inhabiting Remember Love take dance lessons, go fishing, jump off bridges; they are at times tender, merciless, sophisticated and naive. Jody Lisberger's writing is deeply, relentlessly honest, as her characters explore, with body, mind and soul, the nature of human relationships. Readers young and old will be talking about these stories long after they close the covers, making this a great choice for book groups.
Stories not soon forgotten

I read Lisberger's Remember Love several months ago and the characters are still with me. This fine collection of stories grabbed ahold from the very first page and didn't let go. I'll be buying a few extra copies to give to friends who love honesty of characters set in complex situations, beautiful and intelligent writing, and stories where the endings leave you breathless.
Beautiful and brave

I have just begun reading Lisberger's collection Remember Love, and I cannot reccommend it enough. It is beautifully, honestly written, and it is captivatingly daring. Lisberger's stories are inspiring, bold, and different, a true masterpiece from its rich writing, to incredibly believable character development, and the raw echoes of truth in each of the stories. I cannot wait to finish the stories and pass it on to everyone I know.
