Peggy, a fifty-nine-year-old client suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's, was her maid of honor, and ninety-four-year-old Florence was her flower girl. When the wedding ceremony was about to begin, Miss Edna, a Veranda client who had been fluent in French but hadn't spoken it in two years, hugged Mary Anne and whispered in her ear, "Je t'aime."

Most clients can't remember their director's name, but when they are in her presence, they never forget she loves them. Mary Anne plans to spend the rest of her life "remembering" for them and hopes others will do the same.
