Why write a book on Relinquishing Humanistic Religion Through Authentic Faith? Humanistic religion is one of the greatest enemies of the church today. The emphasis in a humanistic religion is the importance of self - how great we are, and how we did it - and it is all the enemy of the cross. The cross we are called to bear is a death to self, a death to our glorying in men, a death to our ministry machines, and a death to our methods that are promoted without the spiritual life to support the activities of our ministries. We have developed a religion that if you are smart, sharp, talented, gifted and able to perform, you can be in, but we don't have to be spiritual. We must shift our focus on our abiding relationship with God, not our driving desire to please men. The process of relinquishing humanistic religion and embracing authentic faith is a deeply personal journey that requires self-denial and magnifying our total dependence upon God's Spirit. To do this we must answer the following questions: What is real authentic faith? What does it mean to pray in faith? When we pray, what is our faith founded upon? We have all the outward manifestations of a Christian man or woman, but is it really proof of authentic faith? When authentic faith is operated in, no man will be able to take the glory for what is accomplished. Authentic faith produces only what God can do. If what we do can be explained by man, then it is the work of man, but if all you can say is, "It was impossible!" then we know it was truly a work of God.
