A handy reference guide for all religions

Definitely good for quick reference, though a bit too short in most sections. The one statistic I thought was missing was the estimated number of followers of each religion; would have really helped to put in perspective some of the more fringe practices.

Great book. Valuable resource. Subjective.

I really enjoyed the book and learned alot about different religions but the author is very subjective. He seems sympathetic to certain very unorthodox religions and at times has a "judge not" attitude toward those that would differ with his opinions. Over all the book is very good!

This is it!

This is exactly the book I was searching for. I wanted a book that would give me the basic belief systems of different religons. And this book has them all and then some! You didn't have to wade through page after page after page just trying to get to the bottom line. Each entry was a couple of pages long, and gave me just enough information that I can now do educated searches of those that I found interesting. Many of the religons that were in this book I had NEVER heard of, which just made it a page turner from front to back.

Excellent and Compact

This book was concise and to the point. The author avoided saying things (as far as I know) like, "This heretical religion" and so on, but did what I had hoped he would, which was to point out what was wrong with some of the various religions that he reviewed. Although he didn't do so with every one, he did so enough with others to help newbie and advanced Christians to know right from wrong. His chapter on the Mormons was larger then the others, not to my surprise, and which I was actually hoping would be the case. I wasn't surprised that it was because there is so much easy to access information on the internet about Mormons, much of it damaging to Mormonism. The only things I found disappointing was that there was no mention of the Assembly of God a.k.a. the AOG or as far as I know, the Church of Christ International.
