The truth is, we can quickly adopt a religious mindset and lifestyle, just like the religious people in the Bible.

These religious bent teachers knew the Bible inside-out but were far from having a heart for God. They had a greater commitment to their own manufactured rules than following the words of Jesus. In fact, with all of their knowledge of the Bible in their heads, they still cried out "crucify him" from their hearts. The ones who were supposed to help people see the Messiah were the ones who were blind to His life and mission. If we're not careful, we can become just like them.

The purpose of this devotional is to explore how you can avoid having a religious mindset regarding your relationship with God. I hope that you will break through to the life-giving relationship with God that Jesus offers to all who believe in Him.
