Relic Quest

Another fine book written by an extremely talented author. This book continues the adventures started in Oracle Quest, using some of the supporting characters introduced in that book, yet bringing new main characters into view. When you finish the story, you feel that you know all of the characters like they are old friends. This book, like the previous one, will appeal to an reader looking for an excellant fantasy, action/adventure story. It will be enjoyed by men and women alike with just the right touch of romance intertwined with lots of action. Another must read!

Not always as they seem.

Relic Quest is the second in the quest series. One thing that I really loved about this book is that things are not always as they seem. This is what our heroine, Tracy finds out continually through the novel, even about herself. Like the first book, I was immediately drawn in and read the book in about 24 hours. Puts Romeo and Juliet to Shame

In this second book of the Quest Series, Tracy Rain travels to the Land. Tracy is a completely different character than we saw from those in the first book of the series. Tracy's Quest also has her traversing the Land, meeting the Prince, and facing the threat of the Too'ki, a warrior race of creatures that the Land soldiers can't seem to kill. Her main quest seems to be to re-locate a relic of the Land to its proper place and helping to reestablish natural order in the Land. However, she also falls into the new war between the Land's people and the Too'ki, who appear to only want to kill. This book is very refreshing in that it is not at all predictable. It's very realistic in its treatment of the Good/Evil struggle where good doesn't always win the day. Ms. DeGroodt's ability to write humorous yet poigniant scenes is evident at many points. The characters are interesting, the settings are creative and as the second book of a series, it moves the overall plot along. The first book is very good, this one is even better.

WONDERFUL story!

Lisa Wright DeGroodt has successfully continued her fascinating series of Quest books with Relic Quest. Again, the main character (Tracey Rain) is an intruiging mix of self-doubt and untested strength. The way this book unfolds brings the reader to a point where they truly care about Tracey and what her future holds. Being allowed to "tag along" in her journey truly gives the reader the feeling that they somehow participated and, most importantly, can't wait for more! More than just your average fantasy-type books, Ms. DeGroodt leaves us simultaneously gratified and eager for more!

Fun Fantasy Adventure

This is the second book in the Quest series. (The first book was Oracle Quest.) Relic Quest is an excellent second. The heroine, Tracy, is very different than the heroine of the first book but she is just as facinating, if not more. Tracy's tale is that of a girl who comes out of her shell to become more than she could have ever dreamed in the strange and beautiful Land. Lisa Wright DeGroodt's writing style is simple, funky, funny, and fun. I loved this book and the end left me CRAVING the next book, the true sign of a series that will only get more wonderful with time. I would recommend this book to people who are fans of fantasy series, romance novels, adventure novels, those fun modern books for young adults, or really anyone looking for a good read from an insightful, well written author.
