Excellent introduction for beginners

Well suited for first year undergraduate students. After tiring of numerous books which supplied the mathematical basis with little or no physical interpretation, I've finally found this book which really deserves the title "Basic" - it discusses the physical interpretations in a very simple mathematical context, an excellent gateway into the fascinating world of general relativity; however, it doesn't go very far (doesn't even introduce co and contra-varient components), but still an excellent introduction.
