After introducing the metric in classical Euclidean space, we move to Minkowski's concept of four-vectors in space-time, dealing with topics of restricted relativity, such as Lorentz transformations and Lorentz invariants. We obtain the relativistic expressions of the total energy, the energy at rest and the kinetic energy of a free particle, showing also their non-relativistic limits. Subsequently, we analize the decay of particles, in particular the decay of the muon. We introduce the electromagnetic field tensor, with calculations of the electric and magnetic field vectors in different inertial reference frames. Finally, we show the Maxwell's equations, both in differential and covariant form, showing how to obtain the equation of electromagnetic waves in vacuum.
