The aim of this book is to propose a plan of action to build an enlightened and competent leadership capable of generating voluntary support for the reconstruction dynamic, and coordinating citizens' contribution to the country's recovery effort to build the "New Haiti" before 2050.

A country's development is a matter for its elites. But, unlike the transformative current that has set emerging countries ablaze, our elites have not been able to ensure alternation in the country's leadership. The proposed strategy is to build a citizens' consensus around a solution to the crisis that breaks with the status quo, restores peace and facilitates the holding of elections, sustained growth and the equitable redistribution of the fruits of growth.

The new model must help us create industries, build cities and finance research to transform the destiny of Haiti and its people. We have missed many opportunities. The commitment to build the future must be made today
