In the virtual realm of 'Eldertree Altharaan, ' Isolde Necrosoul, a mature player stuck in a mundane dead-end real-life job, logs into the game one last time as the servers prepare to shut down after a decade of adventures. Leading the formidable guild 'Xaylar Von Grimace, ' he watches as his guildmates bid farewell one by one until he stands alone. Isolde, a level 100 Necromancer aspiring to become a 'Nethermancer, ' takes a final tour of his guild tower, offering heartfelt farewells to his beloved home. He ascends to the 11th top-tier shrine floor, ready to close this chapter of his virtual life.

However, as the clock strikes midnight, he awakens to an unfamiliar reality. Something has gone terribly awry, and he finds himself trapped within the very game world he thought he had bid adieu. After methodically assessing the situation and ruling out any other possibilities, Isolde reaches the astounding conclusion that he has been transported into a fantastical realm beyond the boundaries of mere gaming. and an eventual array of devoted NPC servants. Isolde must navigate a world that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy, forging alliances, conquering challenges, and unearthing the secrets that will ultimately determine whether he can ever return to the world he once knew.

What follows is an epic journey of exploration, conquest, adventure and possibly love, (if that's even possible ?) as Isolde, armed with his necromantic powers, seeks answers to unravel the mysteries of this enigmatic world. Initially alongside him is his loyal female 'Maid Slime Lieutenant', Abyssia Shadowkiss and a narcissistic, highly intelligent male lieutenant called Etherus Scourge.
