Ten years ago, the kingdom of Stormreach on the continent of Thaldranor nearly fell.
An Orcish horde stormed its shores and swept across the land with brutal speed. Stormreach City fell within days. Its walls were broken, its people slaughtered or enslaved, and hope seemed lost.
Then help came from the far North.
The elven kingdom of Elarionthas, led by Queen Elira Windwhisper, marched to Stormreach's aid. Together, elves and humans pushed the Orcs back into the ruined capital and crushed them in a final siege. The survivors were imprisoned, their fury locked behind iron bars.
But nothing stays contained forever. Years later, under the leadership of Chieftain Drakgar Bloodtide, the Orcs escaped and fled west to the mysterious continent of Vulkora. There, they rebuilt their strength-and prepared to return.
Now war looms once more. King Aldric Stormheart has taken the army to the front lines, leaving the countryside exposed. Bandits and mercenaries roam unchecked. Fear spreads faster than any invading force. In response, the king's council has issued the Adventurer's Call, arming and training ordinary citizens to defend their homeland.
It is at Northwatch Abbey that four unlikely recruits answer that call: a determined human fighter, a sharp-minded high elf wizard, a faithful dwarf cleric, and a cunning halfling rogue. What begins as simple training soon becomes something far greater, as they uncover secrets and conspiracies that suggest the Orcish threat is only part of a much larger design.
Stormreach stands on the edge of chaos once again. And this time, the greatest danger may not come from beyond its borders-but from within.
