The Ahmed family is a poor, but humbled family living in a small village in Bangladesh. In a desperate attempt to provide for his family, Nur, the head of the household, makes a deal with the devil himself, Vahin Thakur. This deal changes the course of his family's life forever. Although the deal was in Vahin's favor, Nur agrees, but finds himself in debt to Vahin. He's done the unthinkable and has placed his daughter, Rima, up as collateral. She learns valuable life lessons about trusting men who claim to love her. Donta, a DMV drug kingpin, hires Rima's brother Rehan and his father Nur to work for him. Soon, the entire Ahmed family finds themselves in America. Seemingly, all is well until Nur is caught in a compromising position with Donta's mother. The Ahmed family learns the hard way that America isn't as beautiful as it appears to be.
