3 Wonderful Christian Novellas!

First of all, I just want to say that I love Jane Austen, and I was so pleasantly surprised when I read in the author's note that the novels of Jane Austen inspired her writing in this book! I love time period, I love the Christian undertones, I love the clean love story, and of course I love spotting characters that resemble those from Jane Austen's beloved novels. I recognized a Darcy, a Mrs. Bennet, a Lady Catherine, and an Emma. It was such fun! 1. The Vicar's Daughter: This story is about Christina, a simple country vicar's daughter who loves animals and sees it as her Christian duty to help her neighbor find God. Her neighbor is this torn up man, who lost his father and brother and is now the guardian to his brother's son. He is bitter, angry, and he wants to spend his life brooding about his misfortunes. 2. The Engagement: Katherine has been jilted and is now the mockery of the Ton. Her cousin, Theodora and her plot to then sabotage the reputation of a relative to the person who jilted her. Only problem is that Theodora becomes more interested in the vindication than Katherine does. 3. Remember Me: On a voyage to America a Duke from England and a pastor from Scotland get washed a shore, the Duke lives but has amnesia and people think that he is the new pastor for their town. One person knows who he really is but she decides not to tell hims so she can have a better chance of winning his heart. All three stories have wonderful, likable characters that find God and love. Each stories is about 110 pages long the stories and characters are intertwined. I absolutely loved this book, it is one of my favorite novellas and I have read over 50!

VERY WELL DONE!!

I read this book in its entirety and all three stories were worthwhile. They were very well written and I was immediately swept into a different era. The themes and characters were well developed and I was sad when I had finished... I wish the stories would continue. All THREE. While I agree that the character of the third story acted juvenile, she does learn her lesson and feels guilt throughout the tale. (One might argue that to judge a book without reading it is also juvenile.) Everyone makes mistakes, nobody is sinless, guilt will eat at you until you seek forgiveness and that is the point of the story. This book was full of Christian themes and wonderful stories of romance. I would also recommend the book Castles, by Tracie Peterson.
