In order to secure the future of humanity we need to recognize that our own inherited tribal instincts, combined with the power of science, are leading us in the direction of complete self destruction. Our best hope is to recognize and apply our "reflective consciousness" to the problem. That can't happen without reexamining all of our old religions and considering a more cosmic perspective.
