Gary Deffenbaugh was born April 25th, 1949 in Fort Smith, AR. He played college football for Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR. He has coached in several different towns in Arkansas, including Fort Smith, Booneville, and Paris, but the majority of his career has taken place in Van Buren. Gary has coached several sports including: football, basketball, track, golf, tennis, and baseball. His teams have lost some, won some, and some have been rained out. The jest of this book is to relate the day-by-day experiences of a common coach and his faith. You won't see a big time winner or loser, only a real person that has hacked out a living in the public school system for 38 years and held on tightly to his faith. Gary's life has been about God, family, and God's assigned ministry (namely the tremendous opportunity to work and share experiences with the young people.)
