Disheartening but enlightening indictment of law enforcement

If you want a classic case study of Keystone Kops, the wrongful pursuit of the police against Guy Paul Morin for the kidnapping and sex slaying of little Christine Jessop is clearly it.As her brother Ken notes below, the fact the real killer is still out there is nothing short of frustrating. Ken is a major player in the story (how major is detailed in the book, and which is really shocking but is something for which he can and should be forgiven). When Ken came forward with this stunning evidence, it should have made the police go back to the drawing board. The fact they didn't was incompetence in the highest order. From bungling of fibre evidence to the very questionable testimony of the jailhouse informant known only as Mr X, Morin didn't have a chance ... and he might still be rotting away in jail were it not for advances in DNA testing that finally cleared his good name. For anyone who's wondering, the real killer STILL hasn't been found as I write these words -- ten years after Morin's acquittal.Morin said it best when his conviction was quashed: "It could happen to you." When you read this book, you'll know how it might happen.
Every Canadian should read this one...

I was completely stunned by Makin's book. It is so thoroughly researched and so well written that I cannot drive through that region of Ontario without getting chills. Makin makes clear, that this case needs to be solved and the truely guilty brought to justice or it will forever haunt every one involved.
A superb examination of the Canadian Judicial System

This book is groundbreaking. I can't say enough about it, or say it well enough. I'll leave it at that. Thank you, Kirk Makin, for the soul and commitment which shows in your work. Mark Primmer Edmonton, AB CANADA
shocking- unbeleivable horror for an innocent man .

It is hard to beleive that an innocent man had to endure years of hell before he was released from this nightmare. Thank God for DNA testing . I have a question --- is there a mini-series based on this book? Also where is Guy Paul Morin now , and how is his family and the Jessop family almost 15 years later?
