Second Book of the Alleluia Series

The Alleluia worship series is seven courses on the subject of worship. The seven courses are divided up thirteen short and easy to understand classes or chapters. At the end of each session are review and reflection questions that really help with the whole process of thinking through worship and what we are doing as the people of God. Rediscovering the Missing Jewel is the second book in the series and its subtitle is a good description of what it is about, "A Study in Worship Through the Centuries." Like "Learning to Worship with All Your Heart" (which is the first book in this series), this book is divided up into 3 parts. The first part is titled "The Biblical Foundations of Christian Worship" and has two sessions that study our Hebrew roots and worship in the New Testament. The second part is much broader and since it covers worship from the time of the early church up through the nineteenth century. The final part is a study of worship and how it has developed in the 20th century. I think this is an easy to used study series for a pastor or teacher to take the church or a class through. It would be ideal for small group study and discussion.
