Redefining: Health , Medical Practice , and Faith

Except for a two year draft in the Army, I've spent all of my medical practice in Minnesota and loved my roots here. I completed Medical School at the University of Minnesota in 1970. A Department of Family Practice (U of MN) fellowship allowed completion of a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research in 2002. I was certified as Geriatrician from 2004-2014. My primary interest now is addressing from a seasoned family doctor's perspective the fracture that has been caused between our contemporary definition of health without even considering the value of mature religious faith, itself, from birth to death. Writing about our own patients in 2012, The Trajectory Of Illness And The Mystery of Healing, we found inexplicable epistemic (objective) and non-epistemic (believing faith) as a primary and essential requirement for our patients physical, mental, spiritual health.
