Michelle Pillow puts a whole new spin on the legend of the vampires with this book.

Courtesy of Love Romances Reviews Wow!!! Michelle Pillow puts a whole new spin on the legend of the vampires with this, the first book in her Tribes of the Vampire series. This book will keep readers engrossed from beginning all the way to the shocking twist of a climax at the end. Hathor Vinceti has come to London to help her beloved Aunt Georgia run her bed and breakfast inn. One evening while trying to find a restaurant her aunt recommended, she gets lost and finds herself in a place she never imagined to exist. What she discovers is a dark underworld society where vampires rule and don't care who gets in the way of their fun. Servaes is a 17th century French Marquis turned vampire who has grown weary of his long non-life and is only going through the motions to please others and keep the unruly young vampires in line. When he sees Hathor in the crowd at London's vampire club one night, he is immediately drawn to her for some unexplained reason. Something about her is different and though he can't understand it, he senses she may be very important to him. Servaes and Hathor are drawn to each other from the first moment they see each other, but all is not easy in their love. The young vampires are jealous of their happiness, and will destroy it at all costs, and the Tribal Council, thought to be a myth by most vampires, is not happy about Hathor's introduction to their world. Can their love survive the dangers they face, and can Hathor truly accept Servaes for who, or what, he is? This story is absolutely fascinating! It follows a slow but steady pace throughout much of the book, but there is plenty of action and intrigue, and of course romance, to keep readers captivated. Though Servaes and Hathor's story follows through to a more then satisfying ending, there are enough mysteries left in the story that are sure to be addressed again in future books in the planned series. Also, the stunning climax will leave readers gasping for breath at the totally unexpected turn of events. Though surprising, it will make readers shout with joy, and make them realize that was the only way this story COULD end. The relationships between all the characters are well done and beautifully portrayed, especially the romance of Hathor and Servaes. All of the fears, frustration, tenderness, and love between them can be felt very strongly by the reader. One will also feel the hate and fear of the lesser vampires, the courage and underlying strength of the more powerful ones, such as Jiri, and the familial love between Georgia and Hathor. One will be hoping throughout, that the lovers find the happiness they both long for. This is probably one of the best books this reviewer has read this year, and is one of those rare books she feels is totally deserving of the best rating possible to give. There was nothing disappointing about this book, except for some editing errors scattered throughout. Although the unresolved mystery subplots may leave fans wondering, this

Dark Fantasy meets Romance

After reading this book I did a little research and googled teh author's website. Turns out it's the first is series and I couldn't be happier. The vampires are dark, just like mean vampires should be. But, in the middle of a twisted, underground world where these baddies thrive, there cames one who is redeemable--Servaes. With a completely unexpected ending and the introduction of some very interesting side characters--Jiri (who I really hope will get his own book. I'm thinking of starting a fan club for him!) I couldn't recommend it enough. It seems this author really has a knack for building worlds-- no matter what genre. I am very impressed. Thanks for a great read!

A very moving love story...

Redeemer of Shadows is a unique vampire story of soul mates Hathor and Servaes destined to be together throughout eternity. While at times this is a dark vampire novel it is also a very moving love story. Servaes is a compelling tortured vamp/hero and you feel his gut-wrenching agony over what he has become. With Hathor's love and understanding, Servase does come to an acceptance regarding his immortality. You also get to take an unusual look into Servaes's past and see what he was like just before he was turned. I loved Redeemer of Shadows and I cannot wait to read the other books in this series.

Dark Romance--The way Vampires were meant to be!

Again this author amazed me. I couldn't get enough of this story. I was surprised at how she tackled this genre! It was truely amazing to see the dark world of the vampires--and they were bad!!! Not only that, but the hero was completely redeemable--a hard thing to pull off, I'm sure. If you like dark romance the way vampires were meant to be written, this book is for you. I can't wait until the rest of the books in the series come out!!!

Novel Spot 5 Quills! REDEEMER OF SHADOWS was something else. ... The story took me over so completely that I was unable to put it down. I found myself displaying emotions of laughter, then anger and even vengeance, not to mention falling a little bit in love with Servaes myself. REDEEMER OF SHADOWS was so good I even cried, finding myself commenting to the author, Michelle Pillow, as if she could hear me, "Please don't let it end like this!" By the time I completed the reading of REDEEMER OF SHADOWS I felt as if I had been on a roller coaster of emotional ups and downs. And before the reader asks, I'd like to think it's not my hormones speaking!... If you want to read a really good vampire book and don't mind it being a little on the dark side REDEEMER OF SHADOWS is definitely a must read book!" Reviewed By: RogueStorm (c) July 2004 Romance Junkies 5 BLUE RIBBONS! "From the moment I began to read REDEEMER OF SHADOWS I was completely hooked. Hathor and Servaes were brought face to face with their own beliefs and moral issues, which they struggled to resolve as their relationship developed. Their characters were complex and realistic, and even the most minor characters in the book had depth. Ms. Pillow has provided a unique and sympathetic treatment of the vampire character, and I can honestly say that I have not enjoyed a vampire story this much since reading Anne Rice's novels. Ms. Pillow has written a book which I found difficult to put down, and I highly recommend it. REDEEMER OF SHADOWS is the first book in the Tribes of the Vampires series, and I can hardly wait until the next one comes out!" Pam Sacknea LoveRomances Review 5 HEARTS "Michelle Pillow has again shown us what a versatile writer she is. She has now explored the domain of the vampire and has given us a very deep, dark story of vampire love and legend...The plot moves along smoothly and will have you turning the pages in anticipation.... This reviewer experienced a variety of emotions while reading this book. First, awe at the descriptions. Then, warmth and hope at the love growing between Hathor and Servaes, and horror and disgust at the villains and their deeds. Finally, there were joyful tears at the happy end. It is not often that this reviewer feels so much while reading a book. This is the first of a new series from Ms. Pillow and this reviewer will certainly be following it with anticipation." There was nothing disappointing about this book, except for some editing errors scattered throughout. Although the unresolved mystery subplots may leave fans wondering, this doesn't detract from the story. It's evident that these mysteries will be carried on into future books, where this world will be delved into with more detail. Wel
