Serving firstly on the Honest John rocket launcher with 24th Missile Regiment Royal Artillery in Germany B F P O 1, before transferring to the Royal Military Police serving in the UK, Germany, Middle East and the Far East. He left the British Army after 9 years service to take up a security job in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf before moving back to the UK in the 1970s.
