Red Paint on Paper Mache Travelers

By: Joshua Martin

Red Paint on Paper Mache Travellers is a collection of 33 short stories depicting the grotesque absurdities of back alley travelers, subterranean city dwellers, filthy maniacs and pop culture caricatures. The collection fuses the nonsensical with the disgusting; the vulgar with the humorous; the delusional with the playful. Red Paint Paper Mache Travellers utilizes fractured, collage like style to paint vividly nonsensical tales of willful insanity and intentional alienation. The techniques shift from densely abstract imagery to unwieldy characterizations, pop culture references and non-sequiturs. The stories do not rely on explanation or chronology. The stories follow their own internal logic, forgoing linearity in favor of absurdity, humor, style and ideas.
