The apostle Peter urged his hearers, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19). His message is as powerful and relevant today as it was when he preached it almost two millennia ago. The modern church has largely abandoned or minimized the preaching of repentance, and this has led to desolation in many souls. Week after week, parched souls hear about the invigorating waters of God's love but are never told that the path to this oasis goes through the valley of repentance. We are in desperate need of "times of refreshing" from the Lord. It is with this end in mind that Recovering Repentance was written.
