Totally bizarre book size

I have not yet read the book, so this is not a review of the content. However, the book was trimmed too small during printing, which caused some page numbers to be cut off the top of the page and left no bottom margin on most pages. The book is 6.75" tall, and it should probably have been 7.25 to 7.5" to allow for margins and white space. It is very unprofessional looking for something I paid $20 for.

From the back of the book:

Feminist theologians argue that the very credibility of the Christian tradition rests on an understanding of Jesus as one who proclaimed an iconoclastic reversal of status systems, especially the status systems within religious bodies. Thus the Christ symbol must be reconstructed so that all who engage it may find it a source of human liberation. This present volume grew out of a Christology symposium at Creighton University in Omaha. Feminist theologians from a variety of church and cultural traditions met to grapple with the implications of considering a Christ who is in continuity with the Christian tradition but not in continuity with the white patriarchy that has pervaded the Christian tradition and shaped its symbolism. Each of the six contributors to the book critiques classical Christology and attempts a reconstruction of the Christ symbol in a way that would enrich the religious lives of contemporary believers.

Essential for all Christians and feminists

This book is a must-read for anyone who thinks the term "Christian Feminism" is an oxymoron. These essays are from a diverse group a female Biblical scholars, who each bring a unique perspective to the idea of Jesus as a feminist. The last essay is especially provocative, yet surprisingly convincing, in portraying Jesus as transgendered. As a Christian feminist, I was excited and inspired by this wonderful collection.
