RECONCILED HEARTS She touched her fingers to her lips and placed them on the mezuzah. She faltered. "Dag. I am Jewish." WW1, lovely Fredda saved wealthy Swedish Dag Carlsson from captivity by a Germans unit that had also kidnapped her and murdered her parents in Poland. The war ended, Dag takes Fredda home. His goal becomes to influence the stopping of future war. Thus, he educates himself and Fredda in languages and business. He opens common man's banks giving small interest loans to young men who could fuel health into the European economy--as ruthless men often rise in depressed economics, with their propensity to crossing borders to take and kill. He moves to Berlin, working with German economic politics, lives in high society and gives speeches at parties and charity events. But his good-will speeches are leaving his audience with simply feeling good about themselves. He realizes he and others must know God's love to improve relations between people and countries. He further hires a linguist, Alejandra, to translate his speeches. Fredda harbors jealousy. When WW2 intervenes, lives are changed forever--for the better or the bitter. ..... Let us pray to our Maker to give the world a firm understanding that war is ruinous, even to the conquerors and that those conquerors will surely be the defeated, another day.
