Evaluating our America today

John Brand holds higher degrees in theology, ministry, and law bringing his vast intellectual evaluations to bear on our American Culture. Rebuilding the Foundations hosts a collection of Brand's articles highlighting his learned concept that a narrow dogmatic set of principles serving as guidelines for a civilization will lead to its eventual downfall. We today have accepted the American Press viewpoint. Business tycoons and those involved in big politics possess the same basic ideologies that people and resources are mere tools to further the purpose of the strong, dominant people. Religion, from which we seek resolution of our problems, in the purest sense is really to bring together the totality of life and the understanding that the entire cosmos is an intertwined whole of an implicate order. Dr. Brand walks us through the examples of Biblical passages where we come to surmise that Scriptural prophesy deals with political, economic, and religious unrighteousness of the nation's leaders. With our triune brain man finds that he is part of the natural order and doesn't stand above it. However, when times of chaos strike, we resort to the safety nets which lead us to easier acceptance of dictatorship or military rule and relinquish our individuality and thought processes by looking away from the concern for the essential elements of justice. With the belief of many that religion is set on an unchanging order, we try to force all things and people into this divinely predestined system. To be ethical presences, we cannot confirm ideas by bending guidelines, we must think outside the box. Life cannot be experienced solely in the here and now. We must each grow, change, and develop - and we might begin this process by making every moment count. How? We can try awareness mixed with random acts of kindness.
