REAL TALK is poetry based on real people, real issues, relationships and reality. It's a view of the world I live in through a creative lens. There's poetry from the present and stories dating back to the 1980's when I was a fiery, young woman with maturing ideals and dreams. It's a reflection of the times, who I was then and who I am now. Poetry is my voice. I speak the language of poetry on issues that shaped the climate back when I was growing up and the issues of today. I write stories about the choices, outcomes and realities of my environment then and now. REAL TALK is an art form of reality from my perspective, It's my work. It is the poetry that comes from people, their habits and ways, their food and culture, their lives, turned into an art form through poetry.
