Love is not supposed to hurt, but society has this attitude and preconceived notion that women are to be perceived as typical victims or survivors of domestic violence. This does not take away from the fact that more women are victims of intimate partner violence or whose lives have ended due to intimate partner violence, but remember this, the male child who witnesses his mother, sister, aunt, cousin, or grandmother being abused are also victims. While society focuses most of its attention on female victims of domestic violence, they forget that there is little to nothing being done to protect males who are victims of domestic violence. The truth is that women who abuse men are not much different from their male counterparts who use women.
