This is a low level American Engish business English text and is designed as a lead-in to Funtioning in Business (Knowles and Bailey). It centres on a visit of an American executive to a Japanese company, but the situations and language will be of relevance to business people of all nationalites. The text could be used either in the classroom or for self-study. It includes a separate answer key and audio cassette tape. The cassette tape features the main dialogues and further listening activities. Whilst the majority of speakers use standard American English, the cassette also features Japanese, British, Australian, and other accents.
