In March of 2005, The Furnace House of Prayer was established as a ministry of a local church in the Metro NY area. It began with great excitement, hopeful that the Lord would indeed build His fully operating 24/7 regional house of prayer. For the next 5 years God continued to bring people who, in spite fo their own human weakness, were committed to giving themselves to the vision of night and day prayer.On March 4th, 2010, the International House of Prayer: Eastern Gate Mission Base was launched from a prayer meeting in its own facility given debt free by the grace of the Lord. God has since been gathering people from around the region and even the nations, to see that the fire on the altar would never go out at the Eastern Gate of our nation.The Holy Spirit is calling a region together in a perpetual solemn assemblyin worship and intercession; to cry our as one voice unto the return of Jesus. This cannot be done by one ministry but it requires the joining of worship teams and Intercessors from the many churches, ministries and individuals of the 8 million people that live within a 40 mile radius of IHOP: Eastern Gate.This book is an attempt to describe the story that launched 40,000+ hours of worship and intercession and still counting. It is the story of the weakness of man and the zeal of the Lord coming together under the banner of obedience and humility
