In 2015, I started the journey towards my Master's in Organizational Leadership. Along the way, I encountered life-changing experiences that led to the development of this book. These stories and opinions are of my own. All opinions and stories are based on interactions with mentees, personal acquaintances, and my own professional experiences. Over the years, many of my mentees have appreciated the clarity and straightforward nature of my professional advice. When I speak on a topic, I do not like to waste time. There is no benefit in leading my mentees down a winding path when I can provide individuals with invaluable tools to set them on the right track immediately. I want everyone that works with me to get from point A to point B faster than I ever did. In the end, it is a choice people have to make to take knowledge and apply it. My mentees make individual decisions based on the data and advice I provide them, their success is their own, never mine. We are only successful when we put the work into our goals, stay consistent, and most importantly stay true to the very essence of who we are as individuals. It is our individuality and self-expression that makes us stand out among the crowd. This book is not a cure to personal and professional inner conflict. It is a book that is meant to help you look at life through a different lens. It is funny, straight to the point, and mirrors raw conversations with real talk that you would have with me. If you are looking for a book that highlights other authors, fancy quotes, or of a scholarly nature, you will not find it here. As I tell my mentees, I would not be doing justice by them if I did not share all my knowledge for them to thrive in their careers. This book teaches you the art of vulnerability, grit, facing fears, challenging your inner badass, and encourages you to put it into practice often.
