Among the poets who have added to the capital of modern Urdu ghazal, that is, have created a significant change in its color and tone, Shakeb Jalali holds an important position. Ghazal poetry is more of a poetry of emotion than of thought, and very few poets have done so by enhancing this emotion and exploring its contradictory and diverse aspects in the way that Shakeb Jalali has presented it. He comes before the reader in his ghazals like a lost and contradictory soul in this universe. His connection with human society is not as deep as it is with the natural universe.
