Weird! Funny! Awesome!

I bought this for the title and ended up loving this book. There are three stories, all three of them are awesome and made me laugh aloud. My favorite story of the collection was Monster Cocks about a nerdy IT guy who takes some male enhancement drugs the effects of which spawn an apocalyptic monster. If you like weird comedy you'll probably like this. The writing is satirical and smart. The stories convey thought provoking social messages about wealth, greed, consumer culture, and insecurity while still remaining light-hearted, silly and surreal.

Brilliant and hilarious

Mykle Hansen is a new writer that I can't recommend more. His prose is clever, insightful, and absolutely hilarious. Each of the three novellas in this book are better than the last. First, you have "Monster C*ck" about viagra-esque "enlargement" spam that brings about the apocalypse when all the male "members" of society grow into flesh-eating worm-like creatures that pretty much destroy everything. Then with "Journey to the Center of Agnes Cuddlybottom" you have the historic account of man's pursuit to civilize the inside of an old woman's colon. Then with "Crazy Sh*tting Planet" you have the post-apocalyptic story of the poor unfortunates who are dumped upon by the rich people floating in man-shaped blimps above. People seem to compare this author with "Christopher Moore," but this isn't the case. I would agree that Mykle Hansen is an author who is as talented and funny as Christopher Moore, but he's much different. Only go for this book if you are looking for a new, unique kind of humor writer. Mykle's humor is intelligent satire but it is also pulpy in ways and closer resembles "South Park." That is, if Matt and Trey decided to co-write an episode with Kurt Vonnegut. Perhaps not everyone will get his style of humor, but I highly recommend giving it a try. With the three books of Mykle that are available now, I can tell that he is going places.

Funniest Collection I've Ever Read

I bought this book based on the title alone, and it completely blew me away. All three novellas offer a balanced mix of social satire, gross humor, and madcap surrealism. Each of them is a hilarious, totally off-the-wall adventure that explodes some facet of modern culture (from male enhancement products to the Starbucks invasion) into a bizarre world of its own. You'll laugh your butt off from page one until the end, and you'll likely revisit at least one of the novellas shortly after finishing the book. It's the type of book that can cheer you up in a moment's notice, all the while aiding in your digestion of the cultural absurdities that bludgeon us on a daily basis. A must-read for people who like to laugh.

Holy Crap!

This book is awesome. Just plain awesome. Actually, I have already passed this book on to two friends of mine. It's a collection of three short novellas and all three and freakin' hilarious. I was laughing out loud the whole way through this book. The first one centers around a typical IT guy. He buys some enlargement drugs online and after taking them his member grows and grows until it becomes a monster, detaches from his body, and goes on a murderous rampage. The second story is about a doctor whose patient is a 90 year old prostitute with constipation. He has developed the technology to shrink down to a small size so that he can literally go inside her butt and explore the problem. It is the first time anything like this has ever been done and causes a media frenzy. Before long a whole crew of tiny people have joined him down there...and that's when things really get weird. The last story is a really great social satire. The rich people live in human shaped blimps in the sky. Their blimp bodies drop their waste onto the surface of the earth below where the poor people survive off of what they can scrounge. All three stories were great. I look forward to reading more from this author.
