Jewish poet politicizes the personal, writing about the Holocaust, divorce, and the power of her voice This description may be from another edition of this product.
I had the pleasure to have Fran as an creative writing instructor at the University of Wisconsin a few years ago. She was the catalyst for me to find my voice and begin writing poetry. I bought this book a number of years ago, and I have loaned it to many friends. One poem in particular elicits long and sometimes heated disscusions among men and women. The poem is Raising the Tents. In it is the hope that one day men and women will better understand each other by at least trying to learn the language that the other speaks. If you are a woman searching for your own voice, you will enjoy this collection of poetry. T.L.Nielson
