The scope of the global water crisis is staggeringly large. A child dies every twenty-one seconds because of the lack of clean water. At least 750 million people have no access to clean water. Two billion live without proper sanitation. And as fresh water becomes scarcer, these numbers continue to grow. H2O for Life fights for clean water by harnessing one of our greatest natural resources: children. The educational non-profit organization helps teachers and students get involved with providing water to schools in developing nations through service learning. Students from elementary to high school learn about the water crisis across multiple curriculums, then create action plans to raise funds for clean water and sanitation. In H2O for Life: Stories of Inspiration, Determination, and Dedication, H2O for Life volunteer Lori Stoltzman shares the remarkable stories of the students and teachers who, over seven years, have raised over $2.5 million to help fight the water crisis, often through innovative and creative means. Through service learning, these inventive and dedicated individuals have brought clean water and sanitation to children across the planet. By helping make others' lives better, they've also learned to be the future stewards of our most precious resource: water.
