A "must have" in your library for adults and children alike

"Raise Up A Child" is a celebration of life. This book is lovely and makes a wonderful gift to give new parents, children, grandparents, and even for baby showers.I read this book to my granddaughter every time I see her. She loves all the rhymes and I even sing the words to her. As she grows older this will be in the same league with all the nursery rhyme books and she will know each of these wonderful poems. They inspire not only children, but adults. I have given this book to most of my family members, aunts, cousins, and friends. All of them have said - this is a "must have" in our library. It is full of charm, love, and joy. Christians and non-Christians alike will love this book. I can not say enough nice things about this book - it is inspirational, a lovely celebration of our every day lives. Anyone who chooses to buy this book will find such joy and love shared. Remember " love can't grow unless you give it away" and Marty Johnson and Sue Antonsen have shared such LOVE with us. Love grows and grows. By: Carol Ann Schultz

This delightful selection of poems not only celebrates daily life but the life we have Jesus! I read from this great collection nightly to my two year old son. He asks for "The book", it has become such a favorite. He goes to sleep with one poem in particular:My JesusWhen I'm in at night and the lights are out,I think a lot and wonder, too,What everything's about;I close my eyes real tight,And think with all my might;Who is this I hear?Who says, "I'm very near!"Oh yes, now I know,It's MY JESUS-- HE LOVES ME SO!Raise Up a Child is such a wonderful resource for teaching my children about how God loves them and cares about their everyday!Thank you to the author for her creative gift to this generation and the next.

The making of a family

Raise up a Child deserves the title. Why? Because the wisdom, warmth and spirit of this book is unmistakeably a family's treasure written down for the blessing of others. The poems and photos that fill its pages celebrate Faith, life, love and learning, and they do it with both a lightness and a depth. Many childrens' books we've read do one or the other, but few do both. Read this book to a little one and you'll see. Thank you to the author, and her family!
A beautiful book...

A beautiful book, written to capture a child's heart and mind, with the love of God, and family in everyday moments. As a teacher, I know when a book is loved by the children. I see it not only in their enthusiasm, but by the looks on their faces. In "Raise Up A Child" they love the wonderful black and white photographs showing real children, daddies and mommies and grandparents. They see themselves in the pumpkin patch, playing in the sand, some even feeling the precious baby's sadness in "Perfection". The beauty of the book is how through these pictures and enchanting poems children are shown the love of God in a way that they can understand, by moments in their lives they can relate to. As I hold one of my grandchildren and read to them from this book, I know it is impressing in their minds and hearts all the different ways that God shows His love to them. I feel children should be loved and cherished. That is how this book makes them feel.
