Brilliantly written account of a man's experience in Italy.

As I read the book, I loved the connection Mancini had with his grandparents, especially his grandpa. The loving care of his grandpa and his wisdom given to Mancini makes him seem like an extraordinary grandparent that gave Mancini self-esteem and self-respect he still has today. VERAMENTE BELLO DA LEGGERE.

A memoir at its best

This beutifully written account of growing up in war-time German-occupied Italy contains some exquisitely evocative passages. I can't wait to read about his next life-phase.

Wonderful Novel by First Time Author Nick Mancini

An absolutely heartwarming novel about a small village in central Italy. Nick Mancini has done a brillant job!

Rainbows In The Fountain

Rainbows in The Fountain, tells the story of Nicholas Mancini's childhood in Italy of the 1940's-1950's, from the time of the German occupation of his village, to his emigration to a small town in Connecticut. It is the story of coming of age in post war Italy, of Mr. Mancini's three mothers, the loving relationships with his grandparents and his many adventures in a small Italian village. I laughed with the author and I cried with the author as I read his book and experienced a wide array of emotions. The writing itself is realistic and the occasional use of Italian adds to the authenticity of the text.
