Chaka wished to be a hero. A savior to both his tribe and ailing mother. He wanted to prove wrong his broken father, who claimed that their lives were beholden to the whim of the Spirits. He wanted to stand in the face of the Great Spirit Soll, whose wrath had burned the life from the valley, and loose an arrow upward into the spirit's fiery eye. Venturing into the scorched wastes of his drought-stricken valley, he scoured the lands, searching for the last remaining traces of freshwater. Chaka wished to be a hero... Yet he never wished to be the sole protector of his young sister Mani, within a land crying for her blood. As the siblings search for refuge within the wastelands, two factions seek the girl for their own ends: one; a long-forgotten tribe, their warriors cloaked in shadow, seek to use Mani as a symbol of power and dominion. The other: a familiar face hiding a sinister secret, seeking to silence Mani before the girl has a chance to reveal the truth.
