Rain Dance by Joy E. Dekok

Two very different lives, one very controversial subject. Raindance brings together the many diverse angles in the prolife and prochoice debate while showing the reader how friendships can flourish with those whose views differ radically from our own. I was inspired by Jonica's genuine day to day relationship with God lived out in her prayers and conversations with Him. It is rare one gets such an intimate glimpse into the raw emotions of living daily with such things as infertility, abortion and life choices. The hope that Raindance gives its reader is life changing.

Amazing Book

While dealing with tremdously difficult issues, Joy wove a beautiful story of the Lord's working in two women's lives. You laugh, cry and get angry with them. Every chapter keeps you wanting to know more and when the last page is turned you are sad that the story has ended. Don't stop writing, Joy. God has given you a fine gift and you are using it wonderfully. What's next?? Esther in Florida

God's hand was on every page!

Throughout my reading of Rain Dance I realized the developing friendship of two women with very different situations, Jonica (infertile) and Stacey (post-abortive). I was touched by the compassion that Jonica showed Stacey and the love that was unconditionally given and embraced by Stacey. It changed her life. Stacey realized the forgiveness of God and eventually she herself was healed through God's grace. God is faithful!I also was invited into the critical thoughts Jonica experienced, day by day, that included God's Truth - the Bible. I wasn't sure how the novel would unfold but I was touched more than once to a realization of God's comfort to Jonica and how she lived her life and faith. This novel was intended to promote healing and understanding for women, whether infertile or post-abortive, and us as a society that should love and accept women and men that these epxeriences relate to or are on the outside looking in, to be made aware of the compassion needed, just as Jesus Himself would have shown to them.I am a born-again Christian and I would have no second thoughts about whom I suggest this book to. It's tender, moving, thought provoking and a tool to be used for healing and learning about God's love.

Rain Dance Is Compelling and Timely

A wonderful look at the unlikely friendship that develops when two women, who are at their obstetrician's office for two drastically different reasons, meet in his waiting room. Well-written novel that addresses a timely topic. Just enough plot twists to surprise the reader and keep you reading longer than you had planned.

I Couldn't Put This Book Down!

Rain Dance was a wonderfully written book with a unique format that was so refreshing! I was tremendously impressed with how the author was able to relate the feelings and experiences of both the infertile woman and the post-abortive woman, without judging either one for their decisions. I became so involved in the character's lives that I just couldn't put this book down!
