High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Railway Exchange Building is a 277-foot (84.4 m), 21-story high-rise office building in St. Louis, Missouri connected to the now-defunct One City Center mall. The 1914 steel-frame building is in the Chicago school architectural style, and was designed by architect Mauran, Russell Crowell. It was also home to the Famous-Barr flagship store, and the headquarters of its parent company May Department Stores for many years, until the brand was bought by Macy's, resulting in its conversion to a Macy's in 2006. The building was the tallest building in St. Louis when it opened, and is the second-largest building in downtown St. Louis by interior area, with almost 1,200,000 square feet (110,000 m2) of space. Macy's decided to sell the building in 2008.
