A lovely "forgotton" book

When Julie Mahoney's father strikes it rich in the mines she goes from having nothing to being a millionaire. Set during America's Gilded Age around the turn of the century, Julie's life changes overnight but her humor and good sense see her through. She senses that life in rough-and-tumble Montana is not what will make her happy and heads East, to an exclusive finishing school, and from there, the world. Similar to Sunfire and other historical romances published in the late 1980's, this overlooked little story deserves some attention. The only flaw is the ending and the resolution of the romance, but the settings and the characters shine.
